Welcome to Texas Lapidary!
I have had a life-long passion for discovering natural things of beauty. The variety of colors and patterns within stones is endless, like much of the natural world. I love learning about stones and sharing that knowledge with others. My wire-wrapping adventure began because one of my sons loved the fire in opals. I took my sons to a Gem show, saw wire-wrapping and thought to myself, "I could do that!" I haven't wrapped much lately, but I have been able to come across a lot of nice stone material and I now have a large cabochon collection. I will do my best to have good quality stones on this site. If you are ever in need of a stone, please ask. I have gathered quite a large list of contacts in the past few years. One of my former students is from North Korea. He has become a close friend and he also loves stones. I have promised him that 10% of all internet sales will go toward his work of reconciling North and South Korea.

Willow Creek Jasper
Willow Creek jasper is found in a single deposit a few miles northwest of Boise, Idaho. This jasper is renowned for its beautiful pastel colors and patterns of billows and orbs. Colors include greens, browns, oranges, pinks, lavender, and white. Although Willow Creek patterns are most often soft and hushed, like its colors, they can include wildly jagged and irregular features. Flow and fracture patterns that clearly show mixing of colors and materials over time can often be seen. Willow Creek is found in nodules ranging in size up to a hundred pounds or more. Mining of the material is difficult and the mine is not open to the public.
